Back on SAND ISLAND, Midway A.
#
P.M. - after dinner we looked at
Red-tailed Tropic Birds. I got bit by one
from the campsite. Did you know - the
young of this species are dimorphic
too - some have white, some
are BROWN! What goes well
these nestsides. Nothing in the
same way.
Color phases - no dark phased
Wedge-tail shearwater on
Oahu or other Islands, none yet in
Wherry + Line Islands. Saw one on
dark phase in Red-footed Boobies.
All 56 Wedge-tail sheared were normal
color phase.
