#308 7:00 a.m. Tagged r.t. ear, cut RM2 and prehead fur (same fur as #307). 56g at fiber pot a 2-16. #309 7:00 a.m., Rtear was already set (previously tagged?), re-tagged r.t. ear; clipped cherokee and RM3. 894g at post hole 6-16 Our area covered counted of about 2 ha, and with 20-25 observed animals plus 8 trapped or shot, there must be a high density and browse, probably >15/ha. The distribution of droppings is very erratic, varies from 0/.25m² to 152. Still have not seen a dust bath or defecato x Schedule of individuals observed Dec.7-8: ① 10:06 op. at co-ordinates 15-26. Watched only a few. minutes, when he went down a hole in pampa/queen ② Gwen Brewer. 10:59 Two long fawns 6-16, about 6" apart, one large one small (1/2 to 2/3 as long). They went in and out of a hole, and in and out of a bush, probably joined by a third. Watched about 10 mins. They stayed within 2 or 3 m of first sighting. ③ 11:15 Gwen. I'm low on juice at 10-23; 11:20 same mouse? 11:25 looks small 11:28 sitting 11:46 a larger one followed a smaller one around in seige. They covered 14m during 2.5 min, ④ AKP 11:55 a small one near scattered bushes, 15-18 12:04 a big one arrived. Changed observers x Covered 17 m during these 9 minutes.
