Dromicei
nov.4 Barro Colorado, Peter Temple-Smith and Bruce Paton et al.
arrived from Limbuela, Chib, where they had been collecting
Dromicei and L Rhypholochaster. The present habitat seems
to be guilea bamboo, especially the N or NE side
where the sun strikes. Their Chibouan field assistant
found as many as 20 nests in 1 hour, but not all
of them occupied. Several informants told them
that Dromicei does indeed sleep (and/or fortor?) hanging
by its tail. Rhypholochaster was very adept at
handling earthworms.
