nov.7 measured + weighed culms from near D-1 and D-2
Incident light (cloudy bright) 2 Pm was 1/100th that
on the open road nearby. Culm breadth taken at ground
at margin of culm in 3 places.
nov.16 Rio Castanea Ocrea. measured the F1 clump.
Incident light measured at 3 places around the base
of the clump were 1/10, 1/14th, and 1/20th
that in the open. Open measurement was pointed
toward sky, water splashed by a distant hand,
4 Pm, clear blue sky. f8 1sec, 3/4 sec, and 1/2
sec around clump; f8 1/20th + f8 1/20th
in open. have 15x new sheet in F1 middle day
Culmclump x
nov.17 Castanea Ocrea. The clump next to last year's
flowering clump has a new shoot >1m tall plus
a 3" new shoot. Not many new shoots around.
Surprisingly sloppy synchronization of new shoots.
Saw only 1 flowering clump (across road as
south of last year's). No seeds or new seedling
at last year's.
Capitius and albedon longifilis both
eat new shoots. Did not eat rhizomnes,
While digging up a tiny isolated couple of [illegible]
at the caudate, Anita encountered 3 big White Drubs
in one shovelful. 2 of them weighed 8.7g = 4.3 g each.
