nov.6 Bariloche to Puerto Blest. Offord on drizzle. Checked
into the hotel of V.B., then checked on our bamboo
clemp D-1, the blowing clemps in the camping
meadow, and selected and measured any
clumps across the road from the camping meadow.
Sestet bloom is out, azara blooming, chaura. The
park guard is still Guillermo Too (and Ingrid), but
according to the hotel manager they hardly ever venture
out of the cabin and are very uncommunicatit.
nov.7 Puerto Blest, noisy parents before breakfast. Measured
leaves and culms of bamboo. Scattered drizzle. Then
to Cantaros, then back to Bariloche 7 p.m.
nov.8 Bariloche. Rain. Milton Gallardo and Jorge
came from Valdivia.
nov.9 Bariloche. Cold, mostly cloudy. New snow on the hills.
We put 10 steel traps for tucos in the meadow at
Pindral Blanco on Cerro Otto at about 9:30
and Milton + Jorge set 17x. Then drove to the top
of Otto (smattering of snow). At 12:30 we had 2
tucos alive, both with badly eaten fur (lived).
Pickled up the traps at 5:30: one more tuco, also well
eaten fur. Two traps stolen, along a path. There were no
fresh diggings.
nov.10 Milton + Jorge left. Worked with bamboo.
nov.11 Scattered clouds. Drive in afternoon to our campsite
between the road and the RR, 1/8 km east of Estacion
Perita Moreno. Lots of Rettro signs. Part q hole traps
