1 July C.O. said he had a RFB band taken from a bird which strayed itself on the lighthouse. 1200 Coming back from lighthouse, we stopped about 1/2 mi before to Wilcox mem - hoep - and flushed a heron from edge of small irrigation canal. Bird appeared uniform slate-blue size of Great heron but was not. Possibly dark phase Reef Heron ?? Baler seemed to think it had the heavy necks of the night heron types.
