General Account
2 Eutamias quadrivittatus (skit)
and 11 Thomomys bottae.
This evening catch - 4
Thomomys bottae, and 1
Cistothus hecbyii
Aug. 15 Today's catch -
8 Peromyscus maniculatus
5 Dipodomys, 3 Perognathus,
1 Neotoma fuscipes, 4 Thomomys
bottae.
This morn we broke
camp and retraced our
route back to Coleman (on
Kennedy Rd.) and then then
to within a half mile
of the summit of Pine Mill
Canyon. (Boundary of Jules & Jugs Co.).
Here we took a small side
road through a gat and
then southwest for about 1/2
a mil to Chimny Meadow.
Chimny Meadow to me
seems incorrectly named
in that it lacks the
features which seemingly
constitute a meadow. This
is no stream or even a
moist place in the
meadow and there is none of
the lush grass but
rather there is at present
only a green weed and
I will called sedge which
gives the meadow appearance.
