Left Porterville at 7:00 this morning and arrived in Mineral King by 10:00. My mother and father accompanied me on this trip. Mineral King is an old mining camp situated along the East Fork of the Kaweah River. The peaks arise rather abruptly from the stream bottom leaving a rather narrow stream (from 50 to 30 yd. wide). Vegetation - Along this stream there was a thick growth of willow with an under growth.
