J.W. B. Richardson 1936 General Account. him although we have put many traps and all sorts of bait. Jan 16 From the traps this morning I took 2 Reithrodontomys, 19 Peromyscus maniculatus, 5 Peromyscus truei. Spent the entire day at Sequoia National Park sleeping. Had an interesting talk with Mr. Carl Bowman at his home at Pineslaw, Sequoia National Park. He walks 8 miles of flum each day to clean it of trees and water for lakes. He said that he averaged 3-5 animal per day and among those captured were Brush Rabbit, Rat, Mouse, Bob-cats, Deer, Fox. They use deer bridges along the flum as well as pipes across the stream to permit the deer to cross, or in case they got in to get out. He said with this facility the young deer often drown. He showed me on his back ground a long tailed Cat which had come out of his attic to feed on dried rats. that he had placed out for them, and stated that they had raised a family of 4 young in the attic.
