General Account. in an open oak thicket. It did not seem alarmed at the ca we was in this evening and yesterday evening just after the sun had set the voices of several coyotes were heard on the hills to the south and east of camp. This vocal course lasted for only about 15 minutes. The weather today has been predominantly sunny but during the late morning clouds drifted in but they soon faded out. Jan 7 From the mouse traps I took 11 Peromyscus truei. The rat traps were untouched. From the 24 gopher traps set up near Rocky Creek we took 15 gophers. The weather was clear and cold this morning, just on the ground, but warmed up when the sun came out. From mid-afternoon on the sky was overcast with heavy clouds. This evening after dusk we heard on the hill north of camp a peculiar sound. It resembled the call of a tom cat but was higher pitched and coarser and more broken at the end.
