Wm B. Richardson 1934 General Account # kind of persepent. This made for unpleasant tramping. While gathering wood for the fire I discovered 8 or more slender salamanders. They seem to congregate in small groups 3-5 under rotten logs. Jan. 5 From the 25 gopher traps I took 13 animals. I reset the traps with the same general vicinity (100-500 yd flat east of camp) this morning and went back to Portwill (home). Elmer C. Aldrich aided me in skinning the gophers at home and then we both went back to White River to join Don Trapp. Aldrich plans on staying with me for the remainder of the trip. Jan 6. From the 25 traps set yesterday I took 9 gophers. This morning I set 45 more traps and 24 set traps along the river along the White River. This afternoon Donald Trappe, Elmer Aldrich and I reset the 24 gopher traps east about 1/2 her about 4 mi. The only mammal seen today was a & deer about 6 mi E & E of White River. It was feeding on the grassy hill side.
