Little Lake, Calif. July 25, 1933. Found a young & Peromyscus and a young & Neotoma Cinerea Cinerea in my traps this morning. The Peromyscus was caught on the camp table while the Neotoma was caught in the rocky back of camp. The Neotoma had a large larva of the bot fly over its right hip and number of small but like insects sticking to it about the nose and mouth Started early this morning to hunt along the edge of the Kern Lake and Kern River, to Contiguas store. At the upper end of the lake I shot a Piceus Wings and saw a pair of Jungers but was unable to get the photo. On one of the large pines I a Sclender - killed Catharacta. It was feeding in the black about 30 ft. off the ground. While preparing the skin to carry I noticed a Sciurus Douglasii Abolinatus growing in the willows and small yellow pine. When I shot him he was about 2 ft. off the ground and fell into the mush. Saw a number of his workings on the yellow pine cones.
