125 B. Richardson 934 General Account east 3 Forks of the Big Little Kern R. Tulare Co, California From th stage st that night I got Peromyscus goylinii. But on early start and finished my journey through th gapg to th forks of th Kern, having traveled a distance of about 3 mls. The lower portion of th Little Kern was not so rough. This was nearly a wide river bed which was grown up with willows and alders. I left my pack at th forks and took a hike up th Big Kern (3mi) This country like the lower portion of th Little Kern is covered with brush which is made up principally of mountain mahogany, while here and there are scattered Yellowwood, Sabina and Pinions. Pine. Rather a dry type of country.
