B. Richardson 134 General Account. 88 26 Emerald Lake, 9340 ft. Inyo Co., California This morning we hiked over to Heath Lake. Had a swim and was the water cold?? Saw as a good many fish in the lake in spite of the summer fishermen. We counted one school that contained 35-40 fish measuring from 6-18 inches in length. Other individual fish were seen. I think that the number of remaining fish was due to the large quantity of frogs that saw plenty in the water These frogs seemed to be of a tad-hopper variety Between Heath and Emerald Lake we saw for the first time on our trip 3 tree Woodpeckers. At the south end of Heath Lake we found a Coons log pile showing evidence that it had been used for 2 or three years. Observed 2 Coons in the immediate vicinity.
