B.P. Richardson 34 General Account this type of a canyon until it nearly reach the J.M. Trail. At which point it begins to broaden out into a typical high glacial valley. A low rounded type with low and thin ridges down the center. Walker Lake, alt 11470, is set in a cirque well up against a precipitous unnamed ridge. It is quite large in extent and from all appearances very deep. There were no fish in the lake and there being only a short grass vegetation about the lake being above timber line. From Walker Lake we climbed the gap to the south and came upon Wales Lake. alt. 11733. This is the most beautiful of the two lakes because of the setting, because of the rugged ridge of Mt. Young in the background. Returned to camp by 4:00 P.M.
