Little Lake, Calif.
July 17, 1933.
Hunted early this morning in the
Poplar and willow thicket between
the Little Lake and the Kern River.
Shot a & Downy Woodpecker and a
Red-breasted Sap-sucker. Caught
another Paromiscus in my traps
about camp. Both of the Paromiscus
taken were caught in a box
nailed to an oak tree about six
feet off the ground. None of the
traps at the base of the tree
or on the roots below the
trap box had been touched.
The remainder of the morning
was spent skinning.
This afternoon I set 5 small
steel traps along the brushy
banks of the Little Lake and
the river. Set 9 or 10 coyote
traps on game slopes of the
Little Lake.
