B. Richardson 34 29. General Account. surrounded by the brush. The soil was sandy and consequently made digging of the den easier. The size of the entrance was 10" high and 20" wide and extended straight back for about 6' under the log and small side branches could be seen extending to the sides. The dirt taken from the den was inconspicuously piled at the entrance making a broad fan shaped cone about 12" high. The little Coyote asleep at the mouth of the den made a dart for the den before we could effect our capture. The two Mr. Dixon caught I took down to Ben Clark the ranger. (All killed them that evening W.R.). Returned late to camp. Moved the traps set down in the meadow and set 22 traps 1/2 mi up the river on the west side in a little meadow. Bated the lot with bacon. Weather - sunny, frost in morning.
