Annual Account
22 Little Lake Kern River
Tulare Co, California
This morning got a 7:00
clock start along the trail
to the Big Kern lake. The
trail leads down around the
north east side of the Little Lake
and over the knob to the
big lake a distance of about
1/2 a mile. At the north end
of the Big Kern lake we
waded a bog which was
well covered or boarded by
willows and through a dense
Poplar grove and out to
a sandy part of
the peninsula. This
peninsula is formed by
a sanding up of one side
of the Little river as it
enters the lake. This leaves
the major portion of the
lake sort of separated from
the river except at the
south end. The eastern
north end of the peninsula
is covered with a thicket
of Poplar trees as I know
