B. Richardson 934 General Account. Oak and Manzanita. This latter general locally is very hot and dry. Trout meadow itself is dry when compared to most high mountain meadows. After lunch, we went at a gradual incline up to Willow meadow and on up to the brink of the Big Kern Canyon and then down to the river. From here we followed up the river to the Little Kern Lake. The country above Trout Meadow is / an open type of Yellow pine forest while that of the Kern River is predominately Black Oak with Cottonwood and Yellow pine scattered around. We arrived at little dah at 6:30 PM having covered a distance of about 25 miles.
