General Account leaf, some of them still having the catkins. The general appearance of the country is low rolling with the dense fir forest being broken up by the numerous stringing meadows. At about 4:00 PM M. Dixon and I took a short hike in a north east direction from the packing station following the edge of the meadows. We found two White-headed woodpeckers, met a Downy Woodpecker, met a Red-breasted Nuthatch, perhaps building a nest, a Robin carrying food, a Mountain Chickadee at nest hole and a Flying squirrel, met and two young.
