May 5 Brawley-Glavis area Imperial Co., ca.
375.8 Junction Hwy 115 + 78 with S 78
421.6 3/4 mi W. Ogilby Rd on Hwy 8
(Interstate) US Hwy 80. - Collected
here for about 3 hrs until 11:50
we were looking for flat tailed
horned lizards but did not find
any (Phrynosoma m'calli). We
captured 5 Uma notata and 2
Urosaurus sp? Huga gracilis or
ornatus. They were under large
boards left over from the old plant
highway. I got them rather
early and they were so cold
and sluggish that I was able
to pick them up easily. Each
was under a separate plant a
Ereosofe bush was about 2
feet away and was partially dead.
We saw Dipsosaurus dorsalis
later in the morning but they
were extremely wary and we
could not even get close to
them before they ran down a
burrow. Callisaurus draconoides
