pick up eyes shine it I swip my light several times over the same area - sort of to attract the frogs attention. "Oh Buteo borras, you are notorius notorious, looking for you is laborius, finding you would be glorius." S.B. Raff Journal 1969 Feb Dr Stebbins got Nate and I out of bed at 7:15 (very late!) this morning. We had breakfast at Beasly's cafe in Petaluma and then drove on up to Skaggs springs for some herp hunting. Feb1 Skaggs Springs, Sonoma Co., Calif. we stopped about 2 miles S.W. of Skaggs Springs at mileage 81.9. Here on a clear cloudless day we found many Thamnophis flavipunctatus, several Thamnophis lugubris, several slender salamanders, a couple of Fence lizards + 2 alligator lizards. There was frost on the ground as as we drove into the canyon but by 10:00 AM it had melted off.
