Ruth, Stephen 1971 12 Rapids Collecting Trip May 13 Sharp Holes mtns. San Bernardino Co., Calif. SBR 1421 broken in many. Houses only 15'x20' in size. Noosed an adult ♀ chuck atop a rocky ridge that RCS spotted with field glasses. When she saw me from a good ways off she flattened way down on the rock. I approached out of sight to within 10' when she saw me and stuck her head way up in the air. She did not move away but seemed to watch me. I got her on the 2nd pass. I also removed a juvenile and 1422-1423 a small adult ♂ chuck (red back partially regrown tail) from cracks in the granite rock outcroppings. 1424 A Callisaurus and a Ripsosaurus 1425 were also noosed at this spot. Little houses scattered throughout the valley from the crest of the sharp holes mtns all the way to 29 Palms. A cancer spreading via our circulatory system... roads. May nature and vandals do their work on these ticky-tacky structures. Little houses number several thousand.
