J.D. nigh 1920 Journal H 7 Feb. 107 Amphibian Collecting Trip Valencia Lagoon, Rio del Mar turnoff Hayl, Santa Cruz Co. Calif. The new pond which would be constructed. The pond would run along the fence and near some willows within the right of way. It was pointed out that the core of the pond would have to retain water through the middle of June. Breeding success for this year and next is pretty well written off as a loss. It may be possible to mitigate this somewhat by placing about a three foot sand bag barrier across the northern end of the drain channel to dam it up somewhat. It was thought that reestablish- ment of vegetative vegetation could be speeded up by scooping up clumps of the Polygonum spike rush and cattails and scattering them around in the bathtub area.
