S.B. Kain 1970 Journal 5 Feb 107 Amphibian collecting trip Mariposa Co, Calif 906.5 on Hwy 132 outside Coolferville, ele 1700' 908.6 Intersection Hwy 132 & Hwy 49. At 906.5 stopped the car and walked down the bank to a creek several feet across to look for Hydromantes brunus. In about 15 minutes of rock turning on a NE facing slope only one Taricha torosa sierrae was found. It was an adult male just starting to get into breeding condition. About 30 feet from water. skin just starting to smooth. We started collecting at about 11:00 PM. I am accompanying RCS on his amphibian collecting trip for 107. "OI" Nate couldn't make it this trip.
