vicinity of Totontepec (out of Milla) Oaxaca, Mexico
3 July a ridge and there is a small patch of
relatively level forest to work. The forest is of
the same well-developed, tall, dense wet forest
found on C. Pelon near the top on the S side,
and on here Brad found 1 Thorius under a
log. It seems most closely resembles T. macdougalli
of C. Pelon, which accords well with the
related similarities manifest by the fauna and
vegetation. We also collected a Balisia, 3
Sceloporus and 1 Thamnophis, am 1 Eleutherodactylus.
We left here for Oaxaca stopping only to:
1) search the river pool for aquatic species (see
above), 2) work in pine-oak forest near
Tamazulapan, and 3) look another pine-oak
habitat farther towards Milla and lower
in elevation, all unsuccessful.

5 July Today Brad and I worked the locality of 2 years
ago, 1.5 Km N Tejocote on the Pan-Am Highway W
of Oaxaca, at which, two year we two years ago
collected one Thorius. We worked the same exact
slopes, though spending less time in the steep
oak-bromeliad forest and more in pine, and found
nothing. Later in the day we worked the
slopes behind some houses NE of the highway
across from the previous localities, and found
