Hanken, James 1976 Journal Hotel Mayorga, Fortin de las Flores, Est. Veracruz, Mexico 25 July (cont'd) the night. 22 July - Drove straight to Fortin de las Flores and Cuatlam in the AM. We worked Ted Pappenfuss' locality at the Barranca de San Miguel for Thorius but found none later in the afternoon we hooked up with Carlos Bron and Senon Solano who helped us to collect 12 Thoriis and 2 Lineatorhinone Ninia, and one Bufo in the cafetal and brushy area around the Casa de Tenor. Leaving Cuatlagam we met Dale # Dave, Mawale, + Tom Hale, Mattin + Julie Fedas) and Jim Lynch who had just arrived from Oaxaca after being delayed for a day because of illness to Mawalca + Tom. We all returned to Fortin. (While being delayed, however, Mattin, Julie + Jim went to Plano de las Flores and collected a good sample of Thuriis of both species. Several of the larger species, however, died before they could be frozen). 23 July - We split our large party into three groups. Dave Hale, Jim Lynch, Senon Solano, and a friend of Senon's went to the peak of Cerro Chicalmatla and collected one Pseudoeurycea nigromaculata and a Panimusly transendi.
