12 July Hotel Primavera, Oaxaca, Est. Oaxaca, Mexico
locality is along the road when I came
along a relatively relatively flat bed
ridge ~4 mi. S of la Lumbre. The Thorius
were very local, all but one being taken
in a complex of fallen logs lying together
in a small clearing. They seem to be
pulmonous, confirming Taylor's vertical
distribution of it and nairsovalis.
After we were joined by besides the
road by Pete Mundell, a former
Thorius worker now studying centipedes,
He has collected Thorius throughout its
range and could be a real help for
additional localities. He told me that the
type locality for the two Cerro San Felice
species is along a path up the route de ruta
leaving from N of the town of San Felipe
N of Oaxaca. He says this info. is from
Taylor, and says he has taken animals
there. After talking with him Jorge and
I continued to the 14km W la Lumbre locality
and Martin's Julie Feder who had collected
more Thorius.
15 July - All six of us journeyed to the
Thorius locality 15 of Sola de Vega
when many have been collected in November
