Hotel Primavera, Oaxaca Est. Oaxaca Mexico
7-10 February The snake was found under an exposed rock in a
small clearing by a small roadside chapel.
The 9-10 February were spent working the pine forest
on the N & S slope. Thorius were taken in greater
numbers, but only with mud and wood, as
the forest was extremely dry and the salamanders
found under bark on large, moist logs or
deeep inside other logs. Llanos de las Flores
was an exception, as over 100 Thorius were
taken in ~1-1½ hours, including 37 found
by me under one log. One P. sarapiqui juvenile was
found at the same locality under bark on
a fallen log. After working this region we
continued on to Oaxaca
