29 Jan Hotel “Pepsi”, Fortin, Est. Veracruz, Mexico
Found hyidrad under the first log which
she turned inside and at the base of a small
depression. It is a small (~2cm S.V)
possibly Paracridge with pointed toes and
slender habits. It's tail broke off while being
collected but was preserved. The cavity
where it was found was quite moist, as were
other microhabitats under other logs and
under bark, but no other salamanders
were found. We left the locality at ~3:30PM.
The skies had been clear earlier in the
day but were getting increasingly cloudy over
this locality and later into mountains to
the SIO, and we even had a few drops
of rain fall as we approached Puebla later
in the afternoon. We ate dinner in Hotel
Puebla and after continued on to Fortin;
