Costa Rica - Green Turtle Station
Green Turtle Station, sea level, Tortuguero,
Limón Province Costa Rica
28 July reddish colored dorsum, dead in the GTS
front yard at around noon. It's head appeared
crushed; possibly it had been killed by our
resident horse. Earlier in the day Chuck
found a snake (ST 170) wedged in between
some boards of the greenhouse shed ~ 5' above
the ground. It was a delicate snake about
~ 3' in total length with an extremely elongate,
snake body. Possibly Imantodes cenchoa.
Tomorrow I leave Tortuguero via the
itinerary flight to Limon, and then
on to San Jose and Panama to meet
Lynell as planned on August 5.

8 August Arrived here last night at ~ 5 P.M. with Jim
Lynell after several delays in transit. Left Tortuguero
on 29 July for San Jose (via Limon) where spent
two days securing export permits, plane reservations,
etc. On Aug / flew to Panama City where I was to
meet Jim Lynell in AM of 5 Aug. Was unable to secure
collecting or exportation permits at that time as
the main office of the Ministry of
Agriculture is in Santiago ~ half-way between
