The actual area with stationary water is ~50 yds long x 100' wide, bordered on the N by the cleared grassy area of the GTS, on the S by a coconut palm grove, the E by cocoa plum bushes, and the W by low bushes. The pond itself is vegetated by mostly low bushes, though some reach up to ~8' in height. It is temporary pond. Four different species of frog were found. Two Agalychnis callidryas were found in amplexus ~ 8' high on a coconut palm trunk at the edge of the pond. The male was markedly smaller in size but with similar coloration. They remained in amplexus after being collected, and deposited eggs that night and the next, ~50 in all. The eggs were laid in clusters attached to the underside of the plastic bag holding the frogs. Each egg appeared as a yellow sphere surrounded by a clear gelatinous envelope. No calls were heard given by these frogs. The three remaining species were all hyla.
