D.A.Good Nototrichum picaduri
Trail from 1000 to 1500 m camps
16 April 2 collected in moss on a tree ca. 3/4 m in diameter - both
cir 1/2 m off ground. This was beside the trail along a ridge top
at cir 1310m elw. - Unlike below, moss is thicker here, even
on the ridges. Nototrichum appears to be more often in the
moss than under it against the bark.
[illegible]
1500 m camp
16 April 4 more collected in moss on trees, although the exact
conditions are not known - These were found in the moss
that we collected for our beds - the Nototrichum (and a
couple of Centrotella) were inadvertently collected as well.
17 April 5 collected in low forest in PM daylight. All but 2 were in
moss on tree trunks, varying from 2 cm to 3/4 m in
diameter. All were single specimens. The
other 2 were Together on a horizontal branch ca 1/2 m off
the ground. They were on a bare patch on the branch,
not on moss + were in close proximity.
All Nototrichum are collected between 0 + 2 m off the
ground - this is ± the height we can reach - they probably
go up into the canopy (?).
18 April 4 more collected from moss on trees. 2 were from
moss on the ground.
19 April 1 collected from moss on tree ca 1 1/2 m off ground,
Seem to be old trees & vines of any diameter.
