at 5 pm I put 10 cage traps coated with apple & sunflower seeds along logs at one of my old sites (and found one Sherman with a Baeopu skeleton in it), calling in the traps at 8 pm. See bamboo species accounts. mar. 27. Day mostly cloudy. My traps with 2 adult cats, Lori, Roland plan. Anita caught 1 cat, also Lori's during the days measured a bamboo clump in the morning, then drove to Providence. Scattered showers; summit never clear. Back to camp at 3:30. Photo of bamboo and measured leaves of bamboo, almost all the bamboo on the south side of the Castro over has small leaves, even if the canes are tall. Put to buckler forest on the hill about the south end of the bridge we found one clump of tall canes with larger canes, longer and wider than the others. Brooke said, longer also. Saw a night heron along the stream yesterday. mar. 29 morning cloudy- drizzly. My 11 traps held 4 big adult also Lori, and 1 big Audubon's. Anita's 5 were empty. Stakes raining more seriously about noon, so broke camp, drove to Kentigerns maps and executed the one-way traffic at 3, a little snow mixed with heavy rain. Home 5:30 p.m. Dec.1 Scattered clouds, cold, windy. Measured bamboo at Sho- Sho. Lots of new shoots. Tall shoots grow faster than when they were short, Dec.2 Scotland clouds, cool, windy. At 10 went to Exterior Ponto Mormo and hiked up to the condor cliff. Saw a pair of
