49 Sept at 3:30 for Estacion Pento moves with Geprod Fajardo, Daniel Gordine, Claudio , trager found the geogjint, ad Jose ... . Set 22 Shermanes and 22 MS across the steppes east of the hold to the RR, along the RR, then back to the road. Also about 15 traps along the edge of the lake near the culverts. Grass short, down no tubes. Then drove 2 km E to our campsite and set about 9 cage traps and 5 more Rattler traps, all set for Rattlers; Lots of holes of droppings. Eparated 3 burrows, but fired only 1 nest. Each burrow 3 or 4 meters long. While setting a trap near one of the separations, a female Rattler tried to run down the hold I was setting at. Dropped it.* The owner of the Estacion (Go Froqua) commenting: Dr, about 8 p.m. Good daylight. Same hole where Rattler trapped one earlier this week. Caught another Rattler before 10 (see species count) and another before 1 a.m. While patrolling at 10 PM, followed a stream for about 50 yards while it dug little holes along the RR and culverts. Night clear, about 2 hrs of dark before the moon came up. No wind. Next morning clear. Considerable frost, cup of water in car froze. Nothing more in the Rattler traps. Then drove back to the camp and picked up traps. 5 also. Long. across the stream + RR, nothing along the lake. No cormorants. Mr. Marful said some quaceros survived the winter but no Gail. Quail. Would see quail a few days ago near the Estacion San Ramon entrance
