others from a hunter - we got about 15' wood rats & mice in traps (Afrdelmus) - seems to be very plentiful - Pete got two species of snakes from hunters - me a poisonous viper (Ancistrodon intemus) me a non poisonous one - also a few shrikes. No rain today for a wonder - spent my time setting traps & looking after instruction of boys at shining. Aug 2 Tuesday Got none afrdelmus today but nothing else- hunters went out at 6 amt saw nothing for it found all the P.M. Aug 3 Wed. I trained incessantly all day and we could only sit in camp, got 9 black squirrels from two hunters in the last three days - the only good catch. Aug 4 Thurs. Poked all night & until noon - Could do nothing - I went to Plum and was at P.M. to arrange for moving camp tomorrow - this stream is a raging torrent. Aug 5- Friday Miles could not get up so they put 2 men who carried our truck to Plum's house - The devil's tried to stick me at every turn & I got so fed up that I decided to go to shining Sunny Shien. They asked an af- habitant price but when I got all our stuff away I had revenge by paying,
