The mess men prepared for mom when we select our top dinner with a card to remind the captain. At 3 P.M., no messes agree must telegraph at the capt's orderly rank they would be ready at 5; we decided to stick there and at 4 returned no progress & me said we would not go take a walk went with him to get the smell. We got him and dinner at 7 P.M. stuck at the heels of his head & made long man until we actually saw three letters prepared of the saddle for 4 miles.
