in Chinese villages are used for cooking are a
pretty poor excuse for real heat. But the
mates seldom take off their coats and
do not seem to mind the cold.
The boys that I waited dinner for me,

I have ever been with and the five
days they were with us will be some

They had had a good trip up but
got to the Tai Hai in the middle of Friday
when the ducks & geese were nesting far
out in the lake so they had had but
little shooting. Tom got letters from
gyette & papers, and it was midnight
before I got to sleep.
But my turn is I feel as fit as ever
for this air is wonderfully invigorating
that one needs only about half the sleep
one used back in Piking. But if it
is usually that may set the field
for the expenditure of energy is only
