third shot I saw it was no use. Running up the hill where his whole party was dispersed I fired again and I pleasantly heard the bullet strike but he only whirled about and dashed down to the hill. I snapped hurriedly at his redious rump patches down he went. He struggled on his knees but could not get to his feet and I knew he was done for good. With a whoop of joy they hunters dashed down the hill. The rapider was almost dead when I got there but we kept well away till he was entirely finished. My Mungel was almost wild. I had never seen him ever get excited while hunting sheep but we made up for it all on this rapider. Before he had quitied me saw Harry coming toward me from the hill where the animal had first appeared. When he reached me he said that he had finished the kill down at long range and had expected to find him dead until he heard my shooting. His bullet had struck the rapider in the shoulder passed thru the lung, yet the animal was running as tho'
