guns. None they cope like the Mongols
who all have rifles, the rapidi would
long since have disappeared with
the forests, their natural cover.
We began to take a new interest
in the bush scrub on the north side
of the ravines (the S. side was always
bare) and no sooner one came there,
rabbit running about near the summit
their white patches bobbing showing
conspicuously as they bobbled about
nearing the thin cover. But we were
after larger game & the hunters would
not let us start.
A few moments later we separated.
Harry continued up the ravine while
my hunter & I stumbled into a patch
of scrub on its hill side. We had
not gone fifty yards when there
was a rabbit crash, a rush of feet,
and an enormous 'rapidi' dashed
away thru the bushes. For an
instant he stopped just on the crest
of the ridge but directly behind a
thick screen of leaves. I caught
