pretty badly hurt himself the rugged
rocks into sharp points without seeing
any sheep. Barker was all out from
his hard hunt of Sunday when he saw
10 or 12 sheep but got none. I am the

Tues.
Oct.28
Tom Barker left this a.m. gave
bath to the sheep. I was feeling
very sick with my cold, stayed in
bed all day.
Wed.
Oct.29
we left for Tai Hai tonight
capital. we had wanted to go into
another sharp place of Li found on thi
but the Chinese would not let us
because of bandits. Barker there
have trouble so decided not to go there
this' there is no doubt that these are
more danger than at our shi tu.
On second day along the base
of the mt. it just there seemed to
be good country for sheep.

Today we had travelled well until
about noon when the cart
turned over in a deep ravine.
Fortunately it caught on two
rocks so did not go to the bottom but
most of our stuff dropped out
so far below. Clint had been
riding on the cart and did not like
the work after place they were from
