Early entries of Journals 101 Sat. Oct. 25 I had caught a beastly cold & was feeling badly this A.M., but went out & see if I could get a game. Had a long trip over over the prairies to the west but saw no sheep. Parker went with us until more than struck off to the north. He found sheep almost at once & had several shots but got no game. Sun. Oct. 26 I was in bad shape today but went to Kwei-lwa along with Tom. Parker went for sheep. Harry stayed home. Kwei lwa is a rather interesting place but such a dust storm was raging that we saw little of it. It is supposed there some very fine rugs but the colors were atrocious but the work was good. We were chiefly interested in a Chinese store which carried a wonderful assortment of foreign groceries - with regular figa prices. I have never seen a shop like it in any native city of China.
