Mr. Malmros has seen this Right
whale at Onjehama steins all of which
had much white on lower parts.
R. glaucas comes in Japan sea about
the end of November.
All whales seem to have the same
idea that the female Blue whale will
show plether someteries where
something, but the male never.
Where they get this, or in what
fundamental it rests, is difficult
to ascertain.
Capt. Wilson saw several specimens
of my new Phoeenides brui near #
Tobaido close to the straits of
Suruga. He says they were not plentiful
but he was sure it was too early
to judge.
He says that the only porpoises he
has seen here in the Japan sea are
L. obliquerus & what is undoubtedly
P. phocoena. He says he has never seen
a black killer - that all he has
killed or seen have had white
on the belly.
