out of the water - Killers came and
chased me out to one side. This one
came up with his whole head out
of water & was then so bewildered that
it ran squarely into the ship, nothing
was injured.
Devil fish are the most irregular in their
movements of all whales. The spout will
vary from absolutely nothing to a column
15 ft high & almost as big as a Humphback.
One day Capt. Wilson saw a bunch
of Killers about fifteen and twenty for about
fifteen miles without annoy killed a
whale. He had not seen a Killer since
the school fifteen miles away but in
a very short time he saw the high fires
in the distance and the Killers came for
his whale as straight as an arrow.
Whether or not they were the first whove
he saw he could not tell. They came
alongside and at once tried to get at
the tongue of his dead whale, but just
tiny their snouts against its mouth
& by putting on full speed with their
tails force the mouth open. One of
them smashed in the ront of its ship &
it it with his flukes. He shot one into
head with his six mm. Krag rifle and killed
it at once
