That a whale is a mammal and not a fish has been known since the time of Linnaeus, the great systematist, yet how many of us realize that its life & functions are carried on much as with animals which live on land. The young are born alive, surrounded with white milk from the mother's body. The blood of the whale is warm & the young are born alive & nursed with such white milk from the mother's body.
