an unusually long time, the

reach its mark. This was all
known for we did not see the
whale again.
We remained out all night as it was
too far to run into land that
evening, but the next day was
rough and no hunting could be
done. Coal was needed so we came
back to Selkirk, reaching there about
two o'clock in the afternoon.
