Sedart B.C. whales from April - to May/6 -07 averaged 5 ton air per whale - 256 gallons $to the tun - 9 1/2 lbs per gallon Humpback No 3/1. ♀ June 29-08 Kyuput a calf about 28 feet long with a very short head - Pectorals about 4 below pale white - above have a small black patch at root. Length =13'5" - ♀ White crescent on chin & throat, but only a little white in median line of breast - white spot between fins- no white on left carnes - top of head back side belly black - dorsal fin and prominent bump/ 13 cent long - dorsal 30 cts. high - both colors white - I had the whole mass of flesh cut about the penis removed from this whale, and cut away the surrounding fat and flesh from the penis & pelvic bones, taking care not to injure the attachments of the latter - The internal view of the penis bare (the surface lying toward the back bone) shows two great ligaments (very tough) which branch just near the lower base of the organ. These branches are 320 mil. in length, later 'posterior' end stand 500 mil. apart, and the ant - end, where they start to branch from the penis are 70 mil. apart. In the median line of this surface of the penis, extending clear to the root & pelvis, The two branches is a rounded ridge which marks the course of the urinary canal.
