No 27a J Humphreys Forties Motion No 27 June 29
Eye is situated 1/3 mil behind + 2 3 miles from corner of mouth - it -> as a rounded level.
Ring - 2 well marked creases above & below -
On top of head were 27 small humps - those
of the median line (comprising 5) were larger.
Those of the side could be easily felt but hardly
seen on dorsal half of rostrum -
Rostrum is in a V shape having its sides
slightly bowed outward & tip left blunt +
rounded - 20 mil behind posterior end of
blowholes this side, of the rostrum
abruptly curves out to form the
leveling which contains the eye -
The blowholes are a little below the general
level of the summit of its head; in front
of them is a blunt triangular tunnel
rounded at tip which slopes away rap-
idly toward the snout forming a low
rounded ridge on the median line of
the rostrum - This ridge bears 5 hard
humps, which make a series of shallow
depressions or imarginations for
its entire length - The edges of the
rostrum are thickened, & bear a double
line of alternating humps - This leaves
a shallow depression between the
median line of the rostrum & the
sides - The tip edge of the jawbone
found for 6 inches shows the curvature,
plainly.
