Maine, (L. Umbagog.) 1876. Saturday June 17 Birds on the lake. A new situation of nest of E Psalli et 365 D. maculosa. Part of Butte Penn. D. striata Ph. cruentus. D. striata Clear and warm with from S. W. wind. Started out on the lake with Harrington after breakfast taking dinner with us. Paddled up to B. point wherew landd and hunted th island but found nothing then sailed across to Brownes chank where we spent most of the forenoon. Then I found a nest of S Swainsoni about 16 ft up in a pi, th & sitting on 4 eggs. I also found a nearly complete nest about 10 ft. up in a Spruce whil from its general appearance I took to be that of E Psalli though the situation was certainly unique.
