Helen kept drove down to the head of the bay before a brisk breeze and landed at the marsh where with C. & A. I spent a day in 1874. How I shot a S. Melrocea, called her "Chuckhead", which Fisher whistled up very easily. Walking across the island to the sea beach we found the sandy shore literally lined with Sandhrips, a long embolkin line of them extending in both directions as far as the eye could reach. They came very readily to my pup whistle and soon fell approached while sitting and in a short time we killed about two dozens. Among down started red cedars back from the beach I saw two on Seth, Ruticilla and on a salt marsh a few Stumula magna. Walking back to the boat we took lunch then twisting sail commenced braving back for town against wind and tide. When opposite Fish's gunning from his quick eye discerned a little company of 5 "chuckleheads" finding on the beach and landing & I stalked to within long range
